Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

The short version: Speedyword doesn't collect your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. Your game data stays on your iPhone. Optional features that use Apple services (Game Center, speech recognition, in-app purchase) are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Information we collect

None. Speedyword does not collect, store, sell or share personal information, and the app has no servers of its own. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code.

Data stored on your device

To run the game, Speedyword saves some information on your iPhone only:

• Your daily results: the day's number, and each word's time, number of guesses and whether it was solved.
• A daily run in progress, so you can resume it.
• Your best time, your settings (such as Prefill greens), and whether you've unlocked practice runs.

This data isn't sent to us. It's removed if you delete the app. Like other app data, it may be included in your iPhone backups according to your own iCloud or computer backup settings.

Game Center

If you're signed in to Apple's Game Center, Speedyword posts your daily time to a Game Center leaderboard, where other players can see it with your Game Center name. To show your friends' times, the app asks for permission to see your Game Center friends; you can decline or change this later in Settings. Game Center is provided by Apple, and your Game Center data is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy. We don't receive any of it.

Voice input (microphone and speech recognition)

Voice input is optional and only active while you've turned it on with the microphone button. It uses Apple's speech recognition to turn the word you say into text. On iPhones that support it, this happens entirely on your device; otherwise Apple may process the audio on its servers, as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. Speedyword doesn't record, store or send your audio or the recognized text anywhere; the text is used only to enter your guess. iOS asks your permission before the microphone and speech recognition are used, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings → Speedyword.

In-app purchase

Unlocking practice runs is a purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details or Apple Account information; the app only learns from Apple whether the purchase has been made.

Sharing your result

The Copy result button puts a short summary on your clipboard (the puzzle number, your time and one face per word). It's only shared if you paste it somewhere yourself.

Children

Speedyword is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
